In December 2006 Downer Contracting entered into a partnership with Lafarge Canada Exshaw Plant to provide services for the hauling of raw materials to the plant located in Exshaw Alberta for the manufacturing of cement.

Downer Contracting is also responsible to haul iron millscale which is brought into the plant by rail, C.K.D. (cement kiln dust) which is hauled to a landfill designated for dust products on Lafarge property.

Downer is on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year for clinker hauling, snow removal as well as any other problems which may arise at the plant or in the Quarry.

We also have an equipment rental agreement with Lafarge in the event that one of their major pieces of equipment is down for repairs. At Downer Contracting a strictly enforced safety program is adhered to as well as pride in workmanship, family values and customer satisfaction.
